Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She received a B.A. from African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis. Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in films theater and television. Her acting journey began with theater, and was later featured in numerous shows on television as well as independent and mainstream films. She was known for appearing in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as in BET's epic The Book of Negroes. The two series garnered critical acclaim, but she also took home a variety of awards. In 1995 she debuted in the role of Ariel on the stage as Ariel in The Tempest. The credits on stage comprise Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production of Joe Turner. In her film career, she is best known for her roles in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Her part as a character in ABC's drama-police series High Incident earned her praises.
